Month Two

Mason,

You are now two months old! It was actually a couple weeks ago but again I'm a little behind. I'm still trying to get used to juggling you and your brother while also finding time for myself and keeping up on your blog. You definitely keep me busy that's for sure!

Just before your two month birthday, you had your two month check-up with the doctor. This is the first doctor's visit since being hospitalized for ten days so besides the regular check-up they were also checking to make sure you were recovering fine from bacterial meningitis. You were 100% and showed no more symptoms of bacterial meningitis. Phew...big relief! Then the nurse checked your temperature, measured your head, and weighed you. You had a normal temperature and weighed 11 lbs 7 oz. This was also the visit you got your first round of vaccines. After what you just went through, it should be a piece of cake right! You had to have four vaccines; one given by mouth, one shot in each leg, and one shot in the arm. You did great through all of it and only cried as you were getting the shots. You were fine soon after! The doctor said you're doing really well and right on track on your growth chart.

You're mostly on formula now and are actually very picky when it comes to what type of bottle you will use. We have a lot of NUK bottles but you're a really slow drinker with these bottles so you usually fall asleep before eating hardly any formula. Then we have AVENT bottles which you drink really well out of but I think they're a little too fast for you because you're always gulping down the formula to the point of choking. Because of how fast you drink it sometimes you finish a 4 oz bottle just under five minutes. It's very impressive! Luckily, we have a bottle that is in between these two - SIMILAC bottles. This is your favorite bottle and you seem to feed the best with this bottle. We only have two of them so we do a lot of washing!!

We moved your bed into the spare bedroom this month. You used to sleep in your bed at the foot of our bed but we decided it'd be better to have you in your own room. So we moved your bed, the rocking chair, and few other necessities into the spare bedroom temporary until your sleeping more consistently through the night. Then you get to move into YOUR room with your brother! You're sleeping really well right now only waking up once a night. We normally put you down around 8 or 9pm and you sleep for 6 straight hours before waking up. Then all you need is a diaper change and a bottle and you go right back to sleep. You'll be sleeping through the night before we know it!

You've graduated from newborn diapers to size 1 diapers and even those are starting to get a little snug...you're just growing like a weed!!

You are really starting to develop a personality now and are such happy and smiley baby! You smile at us all the time even if we're just talking to you. It is so cute and makes us laugh every time!! I seriously could stare at you all day long just taking in all your smiles and cuteness.

Happy birthday sweet, sweet little boy!! You bring us so much joy. We love you so much!
